After making another batch of homemade yogurt, I wanted to try making a different variety of smoothie. This one is inspired by a recipe for pumpkin pie milkshakes, but is a much more healthful choice.
Pumpkin Spice Smoothies
(makes 2 smoothies)
- 1 c. plain yogurt
- 4 tbsp. pumpkin puree
- 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
- 6 ice cubes
- 1/2 c. skim milk
- 2 tsp. brown sugar or honey
- splash of vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Garnish with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Serve with breakfast, as an afternoon snack on the run, or even for dessert…
